• Note generali: Digital technologies today are ruthlessly imposing their logic on everyone and everything. Increasingly, they are no longer confined to the screen, and as such, they are currently challenging architecture as the universal cultural practice through which the cultural logic of an age experiences its translation into everyday life. In the renaissance, it was neoplatonism, in the Baroque, the counter-reformation, and in modernity, the rationality of mechanization. Today on the other hand, it is the logic of digital technologies that seeks to be accepted into the material content of architecture. Where there is no alternative to this, it is necessary to carry out a critical reflection of the foundations of architecture today.

• Sommario/riassunto: Rücksichtslos drängen die digitalen Technologien heute allem und jedem ihre Logik auf. Sie lassen sich immer weniger auf die Bildschirme beschränken. So fordern sie gerade die Architektur als jene universale kulturelle Praxis heraus, durch welche die kulturelle Logik einer Zeit ihre Übersetzung in den Lebensalltag erfährt. In der Renaissance war es der Neoplatonismus, im Barock die Gegenreformation und in der Moderne die Maschinenrationalität, heute dagegen ist es die Logik der digitalen Technologien, die nach Aufnahme in den Gehalt der Architektur verlangt.
