Sommario/riassunto: Comorbidities are the co-occurrence of conditions more frequently than would be expected by chance: one may cause the other, share a common cause or be a sign of a single condition. Our growing understanding of the mechanisms underlying many comorbidities helps understand the natural history of these conditions and improve their management.
