| Sommario/riassunto: | Using literary and feminist methodology, this study argues that an attitude of sexual aggressiveness in defence served as a model for Roman satire. The author suggests that aggressive sexual humour reinforced Roman aggressive behaviour on both the individual and societal levels. |
