Sommario/riassunto: The Socio-Economic Approach to Management (SEAM) is a management methodology for developing the sustainable performance of organizations. It finds its roots in a socially responsible vision of capitalism and its originality is to offer a unique management model useful for sustainably managing people and providing socially responsible consulting, as well as for carrying out research-interventions and creating knowledge. This book is the first to present in a synthetic way and illustrate with case studies the political, managerial and scientific dimensions of SEAM. This methodology has been successfully tested on thousands of companies and organizations from 48 different countries since 1974 and distinguished by prestigious French and American academies. It aims to convert the hidden costs of social dissatisfaction (absenteeism, excessive staff turnover, underproductivity) into economic value for the organization, which can be used to increase salaries, self-financedinvestments, master budgets or remunerate shareholders. It will be of great interest to students and scholars of management, as well as practitioners and consultants. Laurent Cappelletti is Chair Professor in Accounting and Management Control at the French Conservatory of Arts and Crafts, Le Cnam University, Paris, France, where he heads the master program in auditing and control. He is also a researcher at the LIRSA laboratory of research, director of intervention-research programs at ISEOR research center, coordinator of the tetranormalization international research network and expert for the think tank Institut Sapiens. Henri Savall is an Emeritus Professor at the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises, University Jean Moulin Lyon 3, France, where he was the founder and co-director of the Centre EUGINOV, Ecole Universitaire de Gestion Innovante, and the Socio-Economic Management Master’s program. He isthe president-founder of the ISEOR research center. His current research interests are socio-economic theory, strategic management, qualimetric methodology and tetranormalization new program.
