March 17, 1846. -- Ordered, that 5,000 copies, in addition to the usual number, be printed for the use of the Senate. Mr. Benton made the following report: The committee appointed to inquire and report what measures, if any, are proper to vindicate the character and honor of the Senate against the charges of corruption published in a newspaper printed in Washington City, called the "Daily Times" .
