• Sommario/riassunto: Giving, taking, giving, lending and inheriting - processes of transmission are as complex as the relationships that manifest them. The study looks at the modes of exchange and mutual perceptions of mother-daughter couples through their everyday clothing practices. Based on conversations, family photos and observations in front of wardrobes, she traces the vestimentary experience horizons of two generations of women. The question is about the generationalization, the conceptualization of femininity and the historically pre-determined taste preferences underlying these processes. In addition to constructions of commonality and difference, the connection between generation and gender is discussed.
