• Sommario/riassunto: Die Autorin erörtert eine Denkweise über digitale Technik, die sich auf den neuen Materialismus stützt. The Digital, a Continent? verwendet dabei beispielhaft die Photosynthese und die Kernspaltung als ebenso künstliche wie natürliche Prozesse, um zu erklären, wie die digitale Technik im Paradigma einer "kommunikativen Physik" gesehen werden kann und in der Poetik mit mathematischem Denken zusammenspielt. Die Autorin schlussfolgert, dass wir uns selbst und die digitale Technik besser verstehen können, wenn wir Vorstellungen davon entwickeln, wie Energie, Form und Intellekt in einer Architektonik von Welt in vielfältiger Weise zusammenspielen.
