In the Senate of the United States. December 19, 1857. -- Ordered to be printed. Mr. Crittenden submitted for consideration the following resolution. Resolved by the Senate, that in consideration of the financial condition of the country and its industrial interests, as well as of the wants and embarrassments of the Treasury of the United States, the rates of duty levied under the tariff act of the 3d of March, 1857, ought to be materially increased .
