Sommario/riassunto: This volume presents revised versions of papers originally presented at the Colloquium in Linguistic Typology, held in Moscow in 1985. The organizers and participants of the colloquium considered it of great importance to come to terms on primary principles, in order to be able to build on previous research and to determine the place of typology in linguistics. The papers in this volume reflect that goal.
