• Sommario/riassunto: This book examines the nature of interaction between India and China in Southeast Asia. Chapters in this book explore various facets of their engagements in Southeast Asia, addressing thematic and bilateral issues. Some chapters examine Sino-India engagements in Southeast Asia, while others mainly deal with how they interact with the region’s individual countries. The objective of this book is to (a) Understand why Southeast Asia is an important region for India and China, (b) Investigate how India and China are trying to engage with Southeast Asia as a region and at the bilateral level, and (c) Examine, the role of the Diasporas in linking their respective country of origin with the States they live in. Amit Ranjan is a Research Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore, Singapore. He has published numerous books with renowned publishers such as Routledge, Manchester University Press, and Springer. His papers, review essays, and book reviews have appeared extensively in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Diotima Chattoraj is a Research Fellow at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, and an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Department of Social and Health Sciences, James Cook University, Singapore. She has authored a number of journal articles, books, book chapters, and book reviews in leading journals. AKM Ahsan Ullah is an Associate Professor of Geography, Environment and Development at the University of Brunei Darussalam. He has an extensive research portfolio and has worked with prestigious institutions globally. He has published more than a dozen books, many articles in refereed journals and several book chapters.
