The insolency and cruelty of the cavaliers [[electronic resource] ] : being a true and exact relation of the plundering and pillaging of Winslow, and Swanborne, and diverse other townes in the counties of Buckingham, and Hartford, with the manner of their coming to the said towns, the number of their forces, what opposition they found, how they fired Swanborn, and forced the townsmen into the church, and what pillage they have taken, which businesse was informed on Wednesday last. Also what order is given for preservation of that county, and Colonel Hambdens and Colonell Goodwins going down thither upon Wednesday the 17. of this present moneth

An ordinance of the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament [[electronic resource] ] : for the speedy raising of four hundred and fifty pounds weekly in the county of Hertfordshire, over and above their former assessment, for the fortification and defense of the said county, against all incursions of enemies, and for the prevention of all rapines, plunderings, and other mischievous actions, both Houses being credibly informed, that great forces are now marching from Oxford, towards Buckingham, Bedford, and the counties adjacent, to the great terror and amazement of his Maiesties good subjects in those parts.
