WARD; INTRODUCTION Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most prevalent causes of death or lifelong disability (Thurman, Alverson, Dunn, Guerrero, & Sniezek, 1999). TBI is often associated with a broad spectrum of comorbid injury and prolonged hospitalization (Scott-Jupp, Marlow, Seddon, & Rosenbloom, 1992).
