A compendium of fortification, both geometrically and instrumentally, by a scale [[electronic resource] ] : the making whereof is shewed by the tables, and their use, both of the tables and the scale, for speedy protracting of any fort consisting of 8 bulwarks, whose bastion-angles shall not exceed 90 degrees, and so the like for bastion-angles of 12 bulwarks / / written by Philip Staynred .

Of casements, cittadels, crownworks, ravelins, &c. Of gunnery, ... morters, demy-cannon, &c. with the manner of batteries, &c. All illustrated and further explained by 18 copper-plates, curiously designed and engraven

Mr. Houston made the following report: The Committee on Military Affairs, to whom were referred the resolutions of the Senate directing them to inquire into the necessity and propriety of making early and adequate provision for the survey, improvement, and fortification of the principal harbors on the coast of Texas.
