Whereas His Majesty for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving by his letters patents bearing date the 29th of June Anno Dom. 1674 in the six and twentieth year of His Majesties reign, was pleased to give and grant unto his dearest brother James Duke of York severall countreys, islands and tracts of land in America [[electronic resource] ] : part of which were once called by the name of Nova Caesaria, or New Jersey ... given at the court at Whitehall the 23d day of November 1683 .
