Sommario/riassunto: This collection presents essays on the configuration of 'woman' in the biblical wisdom literature from various perspectives: social (with ancient Near Eastern illuminations), literary/intertextual (in the sense of inner-biblical intertextuality), and theological (with reference to postbiblical Jewish and Christian texts). The figures of the 'woman of worth' and the 'strange woman' in the book of Proverbs are examined, and feminist readings of the book of Job are also offered.
