Sommario/riassunto: Science and technology are intertwined in the twentieth century. However, little attention has been paid to the forces that have brought about these phenomena. Many writers have taken it for granted that causality runs from science to technology. This book suggests that history and empirical evidence lead to a reality that is far more complex.
