Sommario/riassunto: It was Leibniz himself who spoke of "error labyrinths" in connection with two central philosophical problems: that of the continuous and that of freedom. From the first, we can say by following Vuillemin that, since the formulation of Zeno's paradoxes, he has dominated the history of theoretical philosophy; second, that through another aporia, that of Diodorus, he dominated the history of practical philosophy. The object of this course for the years 2009 and 2010 lies in a certain way directly in the continuation of that of the course for the previous two years, devoted to an attempt to answer the question "What is a system philosophical? " The goal is to examine in detail the kind of response that Leibniz's system tries to bring to the aporia of Diodorus and, more precisely, the way in which he strives to defend and protect freedom from the threat of necessitarism, in particular of Spinozist necessitarism.
