• Sommario/riassunto: This book argues that Bernard Lonergan's transcendental method offers an approach to theology that is in some sense hermeneutical. Many would consider such a project surprising, given the debate that has arisen between those who advocate a transcendental approach to theology and those who contend that a hermeneutical approach furnishes a more adequate theological method in the light of contemporary intellectual developments. This book brings into relief the features of Lonergan's transcendental method that make any polarization of the two approaches questionable. Ultimately, what I offer is an
