Wie wirkten sich Herrschaftswechsel auf das Leben und die Institutionen der verschiedenen Religionsgemeinschaften aus? Auf welchen Ebenen konkurrierten Religionsgesetz, aufgeklärte Vernunft und staatliches Recht? Wie wurde ethnisch-religiöse Koexistenz theoretisch konzipiert und lokal praktiziert?
