Sooryamoorthy is Professor of Sociology at the University of KwaZulu- Natal, South Africa. He has taught at the Acharya Nagarjuna University and Loyola College of Social Sciences (both in India), the University of Calgary (Canada), and the Lulea University of Technology (Sweden).
