| Sommario/riassunto: | The relationship between environment and domination is one of the central structural features of every human society. The volume brings together the contributions from the first conference devoted to this topic and spans a wide range of time from prehistory to the 20th century. In particular, archaeological and linguistic findings, hunting, wood and water use and infrastructures are discussed. The articles provide information on current research work as well as future research perspectives, also and especially in the interdisciplinary area.
