• Sommario/riassunto: This book is the result of this process and has the participation of teachers and students who are part of the Group for Studies, Research and Advisory in Social Policies (GEAPS) and the Center for Studies, Research and Social Practices (NUPEPS). It presents discussions of great importance for Social Work, insofar as they propose to reflect on Social Security in Brazil, bringing broader discussions such as: the financing and commodification of social policies; the historical trajectory of social control, especially in the field of health; and work management in the Unified Health System (SUS) in the context of productive restructuring. We also find in this collection texts that present research results that aimed to analyse in a more specific way the reality of the municipality of Campina Grande (PB), with regard to the implementation of the Family Health Strategy, based on the evaluation of professionals in the area; the concepts of STD / AIDS counselling for pregnant women by professionals in the Basic Family Health Units; and Civil Society Organizations serving people with disabilities.
