• Sommario/riassunto: La sociologie classique a atteint son apogée avec le fonctionnalisme parsonien ; elle s'est ensuite déstructurée, puis désintégrée. Les débats sur la postmodernité, puis sur la globalisation constituent des étapes décisives de cette décomposition, d'où surgit un phénomène de première importance : le retour du sujet, susceptible de redonner sens au projet sociologique. L'hypothèse du sujet apporte en effet une perspective nouvelle, ou renouvelée, qu'il s'agisse de s'intéresser au sujet corporel, aux conditions de l'aggiornamento des institutions, aux mouvements sociaux, ou bien encore à la violence et aux conduites définies par l'oppression, le rejet, la difficulté de construire son existence, de produire ses propres choix. Elle permet aussi de réfléchir à l'avenir de la sociologie et à la place et à l'engagement éventuel du sociologue, trop souvent écartelé entre un rôle d'expert ou une pratique directement professionnelle, d'un côté, et des positions hypercritiques, d'un autre côté. The discussions on postmodernity, and later, globalization, reflect the crucial steps in this disintegration, succeeded by the emergence of a major event : the reappearance of the subject, promising to convey meaning to the sociological project anew. Indeed, the hypothesis of the subject brings about new - or renewed - perspectives, whether one is addressing the corporal subject, the conditions for the aggiornamento of the institutions, social movements, or else violence and behaviours induced by oppression, rejection, the difficulty to build up an existence, to bring forth one's own choices. It also enables to consider sociology's future and the sociologist's status and possible commitment, divided as he or she is between the role of expert or an immediately professionnal practice, on the one hand, and hypercritical positions, on the other hand.
