Some of the papers included bear witness to the fact that algebraic linguistics, or the formal description of language, is not the only domain in which the Prague group is active. Typological and empirically oriented discussions are represented as well, and so are accounts of some of the experimental systems from the domains of computational linguistics and natural language comprehension. Most of the papers included here have been published (partly in Czech) in periodicals and miscellanies, some of which are not easily accessible; a smaller part consists of papers written specifically for the present volume. The volume is divided into four sections, the first of which contains generally oriented papers. The second section consists of contributions devoted to the core of the empirical problems of sentence structure. The third section includes papers concerning specific questions of the syntax of Czech, and section four is oriented towards the experimental systems prepared by the Prague group. 410 0$aLinguistic & literary studies in Eastern Europe ;$vv. 16. 606 $aGrammar, Comparative and general$xSyntax 606 $aSemantics 606 $aMathematical linguistics 606 $aCzech language$xSyntax 615 0$aGrammar, Comparative and general$xSyntax. 615 0$aSemantics. 615 0$aMathematical linguistics. 615 0$aCzech language$xSyntax. 676 $a415 701 $aSgall$b Petr$f1926-$0164729 712 02$aUniverzita Karlova.$bDept. of Applied Mathematics. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910974149503321 996 $aContributions to functional syntax, semantics, and language comprehension$94374450 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02685nam 2200649 a 450 001 9910965545803321 005 20240516070701.0 010 $a0-8264-9548-6 010 $a1-350-06337-1 010 $a1-283-12315-0 010 $a9786613123152 010 $a1-4411-9548-3 035 $a(CKB)2670000000093586 035 $a(EBL)711004 035 $a(OCoLC)738478517 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000523771 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11332675 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000523771 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10542534 035 $a(PQKB)10706805 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL711004 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10472225 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL312315 035 $a(OCoLC)893335340 035 $a(Perlego)806841 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC711004 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000093586 100 $a20070319d2007 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aLanguage in the media $erepresentations, identities, ideologies /$fedited by Sally Johnson and Astrid Ensslin 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aLondon ;$aNew York $cContinuum$dc2007 215 $a1 online resource (327 p.) 225 1 $aAdvances in sociolinguistics 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a1-84684-157-7 311 08$a0-8264-9549-4 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (p. 281-303) and index. 327 $apt. 1. The chapters examine issues of identity, gender, youth, citizenship, politics and ideology across a range of media, including television, radio, newspapers, magazines and the internet. The result is a multilingual survey of the construction of language in and by the media that will be essential reading for students and researchers of sociolinguistics or language and communication. 410 0$aAdvances in sociolinguistics. 606 $aMass media and language 615 0$aMass media and language. 676 $a302.23014 701 $aJohnson$b Sally A$0317505 701 $aEnsslin$b Astrid$0317506 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910965545803321 996 $aLanguage in the media$94446121 997 $aUNINA
