Starting with an introduction and the basic concepts of molecular biology, the authors provide an overview of various genetic design automation tools. The authors then present the DVASim tool (Dynamic Virtual Analyzer and Simulator) which is used for the analysis and verification of genetic logic circuits. This includes methods and algorithms for the timing and threshold value analyses of genetic logic circuits. Next, the book presents the GeneTech tool (A technology mapping tool for genetic circuits) and the methods developed for optimization, synthesis, and technology mapping of genetic circuits. Chapters are followed by exercises which give readers hands-on practice with the tools presented. The concepts and algorithms are thoroughly described, enabling readers to improve the tools or use them as a starting point to develop new tools. Both DVASim and GeneTech are available from the developer?s website, free of charge. This book is intended for a multidisciplinary audience of computer scientists, engineers and biologists. It provides enough background knowledge for computer scientists and engineers, who usually do not have any background in biology but are interested to get involved in this domain. This book not only presents an accessible basic introduction to molecular biology, it also includes software tools which allow users to perform laboratory experiments in a virtual in-silico environment. This helps newbies to get a quick start in understanding and developing genetic design automation tools. The third part of this book is particular useful for biologists who usually find it difficult to grasp programming and are reluctant to developing computer software. They are introduced to the graphical programming language, LabVIEW, from which they can start developing computer programs rapidly. Readers are further provided with small projects which will help them to start developing GDA tools. 606 $aLogic circuits 606 $aGenetic engineering 606 $aNatural computation 615 0$aLogic circuits. 615 0$aGenetic engineering. 615 0$aNatural computation. 676 $a621.395 700 $aBaig$b Hasan$0914239 702 $aMadsen$b Jan 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910418325303321 996 $aGenetic design automation$92048348 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03717oam 2200805I 450 001 9910964766103321 005 20251117064852.0 010 $a1-136-91321-1 010 $a1-136-91322-X 010 $a1-283-03777-7 010 $a9786613037770 010 $a0-203-84349-5 024 7 $a10.4324/9780203843499 035 $a(CKB)2670000000068849 035 $a(EBL)614747 035 $a(OCoLC)701703765 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000472705 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12130197 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000472705 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10436198 035 $a(PQKB)11584965 035 $a(OCoLC)709926187 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC614747 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL614747 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10446851 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL303777 035 $a(FINmELB)ELB160629 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000068849 100 $a20180706d2011 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aRepresenting mixed race in Jamaica and England from the Abolition era to the present /$fSara Salih 205 $a1st ed. 210 $aNew York $cRoutledge$d2011 210 1$aNew York :$cRoutledge,$d2011. 215 $a1 online resource (215 p.) 225 1 $aRoutledge research in postcolonial literatures ;$vv. 30 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a1-138-86883-3 311 08$a0-415-39808-8 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aBook Cover; Title; Copyright; Contents; Figures; 1 Introduction: The Mulatto in Law and Literature; 2 Pre-Emancipation Stories of Race: Marly and The Woman of Colour; 3 Legitimacy, Illegitimacy and Citizenship in the Nineteenth Century: Dinah Craik's Olive and Richard Hill's Lights and Shadows; 4 Mulattos in the Contact Zone: Mary Seacole and Ozias Midwinter; Coda: Modern Mulattos: Mona Lisa and The Crying Game; Notes; Bibliography; Index 330 $aThis study considers cultural representations of ""brown"" people in Jamaica and England alongside the determinations of race by statute from the Abolition era onwards. Through close readings of contemporary fictions and ""histories,"" Salih probes the extent to which colonial ideologies may have been underpinned by what might be called subject-constituting statutes, along with the potential for force and violence which necessarily undergird the law. The author explores the role legal and non-legal discourse plays in disciplining the brown body in pre- and post-Abolition colonial contexts, 410 0$aRoutledge research in postcolonial literatures ;$v30. 606 $aEnglish literature$y19th century$xHistory and criticism 606 $aJamaican literature$xHistory and criticism 606 $aRace in literature 606 $aMultiracial people in literature 606 $aMultiracial people in motion pictures 606 $aMultiracial people$xLegal status, laws, etc 606 $aMultiracial people$xRace identity 615 0$aEnglish literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aJamaican literature$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aRace in literature. 615 0$aMultiracial people in literature. 615 0$aMultiracial people in motion pictures. 615 0$aMultiracial people$xLegal status, laws, etc. 615 0$aMultiracial people$xRace identity. 676 $a820.9/352905 700 $aSalih$b Sara$0916827 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910964766103321 996 $aRepresenting mixed race in Jamaica and England from the Abolition era to the present$94476634 997 $aUNINA
