Building on early efforts by Friedland & Alford (1991) to "bring society back in" to the study of organizational dynamics, this new scholarly domain has revived institutional analysis by embracing a focus on the dynamic and heterogeneous nature of institutions. In doing so, it has embraced a more practice-centered approach to agency that emphasizes situated interactions, the importance of history, the role of both symbolic and material elements, and the study of cross-level processes and mechanisms. This two volume set, seededby an ABC Network conference held in Banff, Alberta, CANADA in June 2012, provides a fresh set of papers by scholars at the cutting edge of research on institutional logics. As a whole, the papers provide many novel theoretical insights about institutional logics in actionfocusing on their dynamics, complexity, and evolving relationship to actors as actors actively navigate their social worlds. 410 0$aResearch in the sociology of organizations ;$vv. 39a. 606 $aBusiness & Economics$xOrganizational Behavior$2bisacsh 606 $aBusiness & Economics$xOrganizational Development*$2bisacsh 606 $aBusiness & Economics$xHuman Resources & Personnel Management$2bisacsh 606 $aOrganizational theory & behaviour$2bicssc 606 $aManagement & management techniques$2bicssc 606 $aOrganizational sociology 606 $aAssociations, institutions, etc$xPhilosophy 606 $aLogic 615 7$aBusiness & Economics$xOrganizational Behavior. 615 7$aBusiness & Economics$xOrganizational Development*. 615 7$aBusiness & Economics$xHuman Resources & Personnel Management. 615 7$aOrganizational theory & behaviour. 615 7$aManagement & management techniques. 615 0$aOrganizational sociology. 615 0$aAssociations, institutions, etc.$xPhilosophy. 615 0$aLogic. 676 $a302.35 676 $a302.3501 701 $aLounsbury$b Michael$01858235 701 $aBoxenbaum$b Eva$01099235 801 0$bUtOrBLW 801 1$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910961078003321 996 $aInstitutional logics in action$94460295 997 $aUNINA
