It tries to consider the whole of the critical discourse on literature and criticism in the time period covered. Thus, it is distinctive through its methodology (there is no systematic account of the historical development of critical authority and no discussion of the institutionalization of criticism of such a scope), its material of analysis (most of the many hundred texts self-reflexively commenting on criticism that are discussed here have been so far virtually ignored) and through its results, a complex history of criticism in the 18th century that is neither reductive nor the accumulation of isolated aspects or author figures, but that probes into the very nature of the activity of criticism. The aim of this study is both to provide a thorough historical understanding of the emergence of criticism and as a consequence an understanding of the inner workings and power relations that structure criticism to this day. 410 0$aBuchreihe der Anglia ;$vVolume 47. 606 $aCriticism$zGreat Britain$xHistory$y19th century 610 $a18th-Century British Literature. 610 $aCultural History. 610 $aLiterary Criticism. 615 0$aCriticism$xHistory 676 $a801/.95094109034 700 $aDomsch$b Sebastian$0869388 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910811798203321 996 $aThe emergence of literary criticism in 18th-century Britain$94107589 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05220nam 2200661Ia 450 001 9910446339303321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-280-73601-1 010 $a9786610736010 010 $a1-84593-105-X 035 $a(CKB)1000000000337496 035 $a(EBL)289690 035 $a(OCoLC)144618683 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000123404 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11145319 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000123404 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10006548 035 $a(PQKB)11542156 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC289690 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL289690 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10157988 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000337496 100 $a20051026d2006 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aClimate change in developing countries $eresults from the Netherlands climate change studies assistance programme /$fedited by M.A. van Drunen, R.
