Since then, several new manuscripts have come to light, prompting not only a new edition of the text, but also a re-examination of the composition. In this book, Gadotti argues that Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and the Netherworld was the first, not the last of the Sumerian stories about Gilgamesh. She also suggests that a Sumerian Gilgamesh Cycle, currently only attested in old Babylonian manuscripts (ca. 18th century BCE), was in fact developed during the Ur III period (ca. 2100-2000 BCE). Providing a new way to look at the Sumerian Gilgamesh stories, this book is relevant not only to scholars of the ancient Near East, but also to anyone interested in epic and epic cycle. 410 0$aUntersuchungen zur Assyriologie und vorderasiatischen Archa?ologie ;$vBd. 10. 606 $aEpic poetry, Assyro-Babylonian$xHistory and criticism 606 $aEpic poetry, Sumerian$xHistory and criticism 610 $aAncient Near Eastern epic. 610 $aGilgamesh. 610 $aMesopotamian literature. 610 $aSumerian literature. 615 0$aEpic poetry, Assyro-Babylonian$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aEpic poetry, Sumerian$xHistory and criticism. 676 $a899/.95 700 $aGadotti$b Alhena$01637474 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910829019903321 996 $a"Gilgamesh, Enkidu and the Netherworld" and the Sumerian Gilgamesh cycle$93979321 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03681nam 22007455 450 001 9910299272203321 005 20251225202120.0 010 $a3-319-78130-8 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-78130-3 035 $a(CKB)4100000002892529 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-78130-3 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6287824 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5588863 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5588863 035 $a(OCoLC)1029604554 035 $a(PPN)225551411 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000002892529 100 $a20180319d2018 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aCommunications and Networking $e12th International Conference, ChinaCom 2017, Xi?an, China, October 10-12, 2017, Proceedings, Part I /$fedited by Bo Li, Lei Shu, Deze Zeng 205 $a1st ed. 2018. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2018. 215 $a1 online resource (XXI, 570 p. 321 illus.) 225 1 $aLecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering,$x1867-822X ;$v236 311 08$a3-319-78129-4 327 $awireless communications and networking -- satellite and space communications and networking -- big data network track -- multimedia communications and smart networking -- signal processing and communications -- network and information security -- advances and trends of V2X networks. 330 $aThe two-volume set LNICST 236-237 constitutes the post-conference proceedings of the 12th EAI International Conference on Communications and Networking, ChinaCom 2017, held in Xi?an, China, in September 2017.
