Following nature's example, this approach has the goal to find a biomimetic self-assembling dye, whose aggregates can mimic the natural light-harvesting system of special photosynthetic active bacteria. The thesis investigates methods to control the self-assembly such that suitable dye aggregates are formed with high internal order and size-confinement.The dye aggregates can be implemented into a new type of solar cells, designed to combine the advantages of hybrid solar cells and solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (ss-DSSCs): dye aggregate solar cells (DASCs). This book describes the construction and first tests of a prototype for DASCs on the basis of the investigated dye aggregates. The described approach has the advantage that it will enable to build up a light-harvesting system fully synthetically in large scale in order to realize low-cost, light-weight and environmentally friendly solar cells ? a worthwhile goal towards the exploitation of clean energy from sunlight. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aNanochemistry 606 $aEnergy harvesting 606 $aOptical materials 606 $aElectronic materials 606 $aNanoscale science 606 $aNanoscience 606 $aNanostructures 606 $aNanochemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C33000 606 $aEnergy Harvesting$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/117000 606 $aOptical and Electronic Materials$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z12000 606 $aNanoscale Science and Technology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25140 615 0$aNanochemistry. 615 0$aEnergy harvesting. 615 0$aOptical materials. 615 0$aElectronic materials. 615 0$aNanoscale science. 615 0$aNanoscience. 615 0$aNanostructures. 615 14$aNanochemistry. 615 24$aEnergy Harvesting. 615 24$aOptical and Electronic Materials. 615 24$aNanoscale Science and Technology. 676 $a621.31244 700 $aMarek$b Peter L$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01060873 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910437816403321 996 $aBiomimetic Dye Aggregate Solar Cells$92515998 997 $aUNINA
