Never has human influence on the functioning of the planet been greater or in more urgent need of mitigation. Climate change, the accelerated warming of the planet's surface attributed to human activities, is now at the forefront of global politics. The agriculture sector not only contributes to climate change but also feels the severity of its effects, with the water, carbon and nitrogen cycles all subject to modification as a result. Crop production systems are each subject to different types of threat and levels of threat intensity. There is however significant potential to both adapt to and mitigate climate change within the agricultural sector and reduce these threats. Each solution must be implemented in a sustainable manner and tailored to individual regions and farming systems. This Special Issue evaluates a variety of potential climate change adaptation and mitigation techniques that account for this spatial variation, including modification to cropping systems, Climate-Smart Agriculture and the development and growth of novel crops and crop varieties. 606 $aBiology, life sciences$2bicssc 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 606 $aTechnology, engineering, agriculture$2bicssc 610 $aadaptation measures 610 $aagriculture 610 $aagriculture production 610 $aanaerobic digestion 610 $aAPSIM 610 $aatmospheric phytoremediation 610 $aBangladesh 610 $abioenergy 610 $abiogas 610 $aCanESM2 610 $achill accumulation 610 $aclean energy 610 $aclimate adaptation 610 $aclimate change 610 $aclimate change adaptation 610 $aclimate change impacts 610 $aclimate change-induced impacts 610 $aclimate-departure 610 $aclimate-smart agriculture 610 $aCO2 fertilization 610 $aCORDEX 610 $acorn 610 $acost distribution 610 $acrop breeding 610 $acrop model 610 $acrop suitability 610 $acrop-climate departure 610 $acrop-climate departure 610 $adrought-prone low lands 610 $aEcocrop 610 $aEl Nin?o 610 $aENSO 610 $aenvironment type 610 $aextreme value theory 610 $aextreme weather 610 $afarmer acceptance 610 $afertilizer 610 $afood security 610 $afuture crop yields 610 $ageographic information 610 $aGeorgia 610 $aGHG 610 $agreenhouse gas emissions 610 $aGuatemala 610 $aHadCM3 610 $ahydroclimatic hazard 610 $aincentive measures 610 $aincome distribution 610 $aindustrial hemp 610 $ainland valley development 610 $aLa Nin?a 610 $alife cycle assessment 610 $alivelihood transformation 610 $alivelihoods 610 $amanagement practices 610 $amitigation techniques 610 $an/a 610 $aN2O 610 $aN2OR 610 $anitrous oxide reductase 610 $anosZ 610 $apeaches 610 $aperennial crops 610 $aplanting month 610 $aprecipitation 610 $aradiative warming 610 $arenewable energy technologies 610 $aresilience 610 $areturn level 610 $arice 610 $arice field 610 $arisk 610 $arural Sidama 610 $asmallholder farmers 610 $aSOI 610 $asoil water 610 $aSouth Carolina 610 $asouthern Ethiopia 610 $aSouthern Oscillation Index 610 $asoybeans 610 $asustainability 610 $asustainable rice production 610 $atemperature 610 $atransgenic 610 $avulnerable region 610 $awater control structure 610 $aweather 610 $aWest Africa 610 $awinter wheat yield 615 7$aBiology, life sciences 615 7$aResearch & information: general 615 7$aTechnology, engineering, agriculture 700 $aLewis$b Kathy$4edt$01338956 702 $aWarner$b Douglas$4edt 702 $aLewis$b Kathy$4oth 702 $aWarner$b Douglas$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910674039203321 996 $aSustainable Agriculture for Climate Change Adaptation$93059282 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01762oas 22006853a 450 001 9910146766403321 005 20251105213014.0 011 $a1555-2810 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2228461-8 035 $a(OCoLC)58562910 035 $a(CONSER) 2005213378 035 $a(CKB)1000000000025536 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000025536 100 $a20050323a20059999 sy a 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aInternational journal of biomedical science $eIJBS 210 $aMonterey Park, CA $cMaster Pub.
