The RAND Suicide Prevention Program Evaluation Toolkit was designed to help program staff overcome these common challenges to evaluating and planning improvements to their programs. It begins by walking users through the process of developing a program logic model that ties program activities to intermediate outcomes, helping staff better understand the drivers of any changes in long-term outcomes, such as suicide rates. It then offers information about the latest evaluation research, helps users design an evaluation that is appropriate for their program type and available resources and expertise, supports the selection of measures for new evaluations and to augment or enhance ongoing evaluations, and offers basic guidance on how to analyze and use evaluation data for program improvement. Through checklists, worksheets, and templates, the toolkit takes users step by step through the process of identifying whether their programs produce beneficial effects, ultimately informing the responsible allocation of scarce resources. The toolkita?ss design and content are the result of a rigorous, systematic review of the program evaluation literature to identify evaluation approaches, measures, and tools used elsewhere and will be particularly useful to coordinators and directors of suicide prevention programs in the U.S. Department of Defense, Veterans Health Administration, community-based settings, and state and local health departments. A companion report, Development and Pilot Test of the RAND Suicide Prevention Program Evaluation Toolkit, offers additional background on the toolkita?ss design and refinement. 606 $aSuicidal behavior$xTreatment$zUnited States 606 $aSuicide$xPrevention$xEvaluation$zUnited States 606 $aEvaluation Studies as Topic 606 $aBehavioral Sciences 606 $aSelf-Injurious Behavior 606 $aHealth Care Evaluation Mechanisms 606 $aInvestigative Techniques 606 $aQuality of Health Care 606 $aSocial Problems 606 $aSociology 606 $aDiagnostic Techniques and Procedures 606 $aBehavioral Disciplines and Activities 606 $aHealth Services Administration 606 $aBehavioral Symptoms 606 $aDelivery of Health Care 606 $aHealth Care Quality, Access, and Evaluation 606 $aBehavior 606 $aSocial Sciences 606 $aBehavior and Behavior Mechanisms 606 $aGeography 606 $aSuicide 606 $aProgram Evaluation 606 $aMethods 606 $aPsychology 606 $aPsychiatry$2HILCC 606 $aHealth & Biological Sciences$2HILCC 606 $aPsychiatric Disorders, Individual$2HILCC 607 $aNorth America 607 $aAmericas 607 $aGeographic Locations 607 $aUnited States 615 0$aSuicidal behavior$xTreatment 615 0$aSuicide$xPrevention$xEvaluation 615 2$aEvaluation Studies as Topic. 615 2$aBehavioral Sciences. 615 2$aSelf-Injurious Behavior. 615 2$aHealth Care Evaluation Mechanisms. 615 2$aInvestigative Techniques. 615 2$aQuality of Health Care. 615 2$aSocial Problems. 615 2$aSociology. 615 2$aDiagnostic Techniques and Procedures. 615 2$aBehavioral Disciplines and Activities. 615 2$aHealth Services Administration. 615 2$aBehavioral Symptoms. 615 2$aDelivery of Health Care. 615 2$aHealth Care Quality, Access, and Evaluation. 615 2$aBehavior. 615 2$aSocial Sciences. 615 2$aBehavior and Behavior Mechanisms. 615 2$aGeography. 615 2$aSuicide. 615 2$aProgram Evaluation. 615 2$aMethods. 615 2$aPsychology. 615 7$aPsychiatry 615 7$aHealth & Biological Sciences 615 7$aPsychiatric Disorders, Individual 676 $a616.858445 700 $aAcosta$b Joie D$01236262 702 $aKofner$b Aaron 702 $aBecker$b Amariah 702 $aBecker$b Amariah 702 $aRamchand$b Rajeev 702 $aRamchand$b Rajeev 702 $aFelton$b Alexandria 712 02$aNational Defense Research Institute (U.S.) Forces and Resources Policy Center. 712 02$aUnited States 801 0$bPQKB 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910220100203321 996 $aRAND suicide prevention program evaluation toolkit$92884590 997 $aUNINA
