It pays special attention to the role played by producers, filmmakers, and government agencies, in relation to the changing production practices brought about by Canadian television. For Canadian policy-makers, the feature film was considered to be a signifier of cultural modernity. Filmmakers' desire to experiment with a new format was subverted by a political-economic agenda intent on using the format to create cultural authenticity for a nation lagging behind its neighbour to the South. Dorland crafts a careful historical analysis based on primary sources, including government records and in-depth personal interviews with key participants. Employing Foucault's concept of governmentality, Dorland analyses the state's interest in influencing and shaping feature film production. A major contribution to scholarship on Canadian cinema, So Close to the State/s provides a revealing look at the relationship between culture and the state. 606 $aMotion picture industry$xGovernment policy$zCanada 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aMotion picture industry$xGovernment policy 676 $a791.43/0971 700 $aDorland$b Michael$01033333 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910455952703321 996 $aSo close to the State$92469625 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03406nam a2200409Ii 4500 001 991003248169707536 006 m d 007 cr cn||||||||| 008 070806s2001 caua sb 001 0 eng d 020 $a9781558606081 020 $a1558606084 035 $ab13655103-39ule_inst 037 $a97021:97021$bElsevier Science & Technology$nhttp://www.sciencedirect.com 040 $aOPELS$cOPELS 049 $aTEFA 082 04$a004.67$222 100 1 $aWang, Zheng.$0514725 245 10$aInternet QoS$h[electronic resource] :$barchitectures and mechanisms for quality of service /$cZheng Wang. 260 $aSan Francisco :$bMorgan Kaufmann,$cc2001. 300 $axv, 239 p. :$bill. ;$c25 cm. 504 $aIncludes bibliographical references (p. 219-223) and index. 505 0 $a1 The Big Picture -- 2 Integrated Services -- 3 Differentiated Services -- 4 Multiprotocol Label Switching -- 5 Internet Traffic Engineering. 520 $a

Guaranteeing performance and prioritizing data across the Internet may seem nearly impossible because of an increasing number of variables that can affect and undermine service. But if you're involved in developing and implementing streaming video or voice, or other time-sensitive Internet applications, you understand exactly what's at stake in establishing Quality of Service (QoS) and recognize the benefits it will bring to your company.

What you need is a reliable guide to the latest QoS techniques that addresses the Internet's special challenges. Internet QoS is it-the first book to dig deep into the issues that affect your ability to provide performance and prioritization guarantees to your customers and users! This book gives a comprehensive view of key technologies and discusses various analytical techniques to help you get the most out of network resources as you strive to make, and adhere to, meaningful QoS guarantees. * Includes valuable insights from a Bell Labs engineer with 14 years of experience in data networking and Internet protocol design. * Details the enhancements to current Internet architectures and discusses new mechanisms and network management capabilities that QoS will require. * Focuses on the four main areas of Internet QoS: integrated services, differentiated services, MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), and traffic engineering. 533 $aElectronic reproduction.$bAmsterdam :$cElsevier Science & Technology,$d2007.$nMode of access: World Wide Web.$nSystem requirements: Web browser.$nTitle from title screen (viewed on Aug. 2, 2007).$nAccess may be restricted to users at subscribing institutions. 650 0$aInternet$xEvaluation. 650 0$aTelecommunication$xTraffic$xManagement. 655 7$aElectronic books.$2local 776 1 $cOriginal$z1558606084$z9781558606081$w(DLC) 00067265$w(OCoLC)45422137 856 40$3Referex$uhttp://www.sciencedirect.com/science/book/9781558606081$zAn electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web; click for information 856 42$zPublisher description$uhttp://catdir.loc.gov/catdir/description/els031/00067265.html 856 41$zTable of contents$uhttp://www.loc.gov/catdir/toc/els031/00067265.html 907 $a.b13655103$b24-02-22$c24-01-08 912 $a991003248169707536 994 $aC0$bTEF 996 $aInternet QoS$91212812 997 $aUNISALENTO 998 $ale029$b24-01-08$cm$dm $e-$feng$gcau$h0$i0 LEADER 01435nam a2200289 i 4500 001 991002194479707536 005 20020507161159.0 008 000414s1994 it 001 0 ita d 020 $a8814047804 035 $ab11622246-39ule_inst 035 $aLE02732068$9ExL 040 $aDip.to Studi Giuridici$bita 082 0 $a342.402 110 2 $aItalia :$bCorte costituzionale$0257747 245 13$aIl principio di ragionevolezza nella giurisprudenza della Corte costituzionale :$briferimenti comparatistici : atti del Seminario svoltosi in Roma, Palazzo della Consulta, nei giorni 13 e 14 ottobre 1992 /$cCorte Costituzionale, Italia 260 $aMilano :$bA. Of the several high-quality articles submitted, twelve were published after the peer-review process, with an acceptance rate of 59 percent. In the first section of this book, the articles include the occurrence and removal of emerging contaminants in water bodies. Moreover, the presence of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in water sources is discussed in detail. Subsequently, the removal of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs), and dye with different physicochemical methods is investigated. In another section of this book, the removal of ammonia with anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) is studied. Additionally, the elimination of heavy metals using the adsorption process, as an effective method, is discussed. Moreover, the performance of membrane bioreactors in the elimination of pollutants from landfill leachate is investigated in another article in this book. In addition to this, green and sustainable wastewater technologies (GSWTs) have recently attracted the attention of researchers. Therefore, nanoremediation and microalgae-based systems are discussed as the GSWTs. 517 $aWastewater Treatment 606 $aHistory of engineering & technology$2bicssc 606 $aTechnology: general issues$2bicssc 610 $aactivated sludge 610 $aanaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) 610 $aanaerobic digestion 610 $aanthropogenic substances 610 $aapplication 610 $abio-membrane 610 $abiological nitrogen removal 610 $aCandidate phyla radiation 610 $aCandidatus Brocadia sinica 610 $aCandidatus Jettenia caeni 610 $acentral composite design 610 $acharacterisation 610 $achemical coagulation 610 $achemical oxygen demand 610 $achitosan 610 $achromium 610 $aCNTs 610 $acoagulation and flocculation 610 $acost analysis 610 $adisinfection 610 $aenvironmental ecotoxicity 610 $aexpanded granular bed reactor 610 $aFe (VI) oxidation 610 $afiltration technology 610 $afunctional groups 610 $agreen treatment technology 610 $ahexadecylamine 610 $ahybrid adsorbent 610 $aisotherm 610 $amembrane bioreactor 610 $amembrane fabrication 610 $ametagenomic analysis 610 $amicroalgae harvesting 610 $amicrofiltration 610 $aMoringa oleifera 610 $amulti-integrated system 610 $an/a 610 $ananofiltration 610 $ananoremediation 610 $anatural coagulant 610 $anatural coagulation 610 $anZVI 610 $aPatescibacteria 610 $aPFAS health risk 610 $apharmaceuticals 610 $aphase inversion technique 610 $apoly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) 610 $apolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons 610 $apoultry slaughterhouse wastewater 610 $apowder activated carbon 610 $apowdered activated carbon (PAC) 610 $aproduction 610 $aregeneration 610 $aregulatory values 610 $aremediation process 610 $areverse osmosis 610 $arice husk 610 $aRSM 610 $asoil remediation 610 $astabilized leachate 610 $atoxicology 610 $aultrafiltration 610 $awastewater 610 $awastewater treatment 615 7$aHistory of engineering & technology 615 7$aTechnology: general issues 700 $aMojiri$b Amin$4edt$01303487 702 $aBashir$b Mohammed J.K$4edt 702 $aMojiri$b Amin$4oth 702 $aBashir$b Mohammed J.K$4oth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910557621503321 996 $aWastewater Treatment: Current and Future Techniques$93027108 997 $aUNINA
