This volume brings together leading scholars in the field to undertake a major study of the major doctrines and debates of the so-called Summa Halensis (1236-45), which was collaboratively authored by the founding members of the Franciscan school at Paris, above all, Alexander of Hales, and John of La Rochelle, in an effort to lay down the Franciscan intellectual tradition or the first time. The contributions will highlight that this tradition, far from unoriginal, laid the groundwork for later Franciscan thought, which is often regarded as formative for modern thought. Furthermore, the volume shows the role this Summa played in the development of the burgeoning field of systematic theology, which has its origins in the young university of Paris. This is a crucial and groundbreaking study for those with interests in the history of western thought and theology specifically. 410 0$aVeröffentlichungen des Grabmann-Institutes Zur Erforschung der Mittelalterlichen Theologie und Philosophie 606 $aAlexander of Hales 606 $aEarly Franciscan 606 $aJohn of La Rochelle 606 $aSumma Halensis 606 $aLITERARY CRITICISM / Ancient & Classical$2bisacsh 608 $aConference papers and proceedings.$2fast 608 $aHistory.$2fast 608 $aConference papers and proceedings.$2lcgft 610 $aAlexander of Hales. 610 $aEarly Franciscan. 610 $aJohn of La Rochelle. 610 $aSumma Halensis. 615 4$aAlexander of Hales. 615 4$aEarly Franciscan. 615 4$aJohn of La Rochelle. 615 4$aSumma Halensis. 615 7$aLITERARY CRITICISM / Ancient & Classical. 676 $a230/.2 700 $aSchumacher$b Lydia$4edt$01342699 702 $aSchumacher$b Lydia$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 02$aEuropean Research Council (ERC)$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910409835603321 996 $aThe Summa Halensis$93558501 997 $aUNINA
