As a result, scholars have turned their attention to a sociological view of arts, developing hermeneutic approaches and conducting empirical research that have led to a wealth of insights into the organization of arts. These studies of the creation, production, distribution, evaluation and consumption of arts are clearly sociological, but they include approaches from other disciplines, notably arts management studies and cultural policy research. Volker Kirchberg and Tasos Zembylas critically discuss seven major theories of the social organization of arts in Western societies, with the aim of encouraging further research and theoretical developments. 606 $aSOCIAL SCIENCE / Sociology / General$2bisacsh 610 $aArt. 610 $aArts. 610 $aCultural Education. 610 $aCultural Management. 610 $aMusic. 610 $aOrganizations. 610 $aProduction of Culture. 610 $aSocial Theory. 610 $aSociety. 610 $aSociology of Art. 610 $aSociology of Culture. 610 $aSociology. 615 7$aSOCIAL SCIENCE / Sociology / General. 700 $aKirchberg$b Volker$01783303 701 $aZembylas$b Tasos$01225263 701 $abueronardin/mdwPress$01783304 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996639670603316 996 $aThe Social Organization of Arts$94310783 997 $aUNISA
