To this day, many of these processes remain under-researched and the nature of meaning in derivational morphology remains ill-understood. All eight articles have an empirical focus and rely on carefully collected sets of data. At the same time, the contributions represent a broad variety of approaches. Several contributions deal with specific problems of the pairing of form and meaning, such as the rivalry between nominalizing suffixes or the semantic categories encoded by conversion pairs. Other articles tackle the more general question of how meaning is organized, e.g. whether there is evidence for the paradigmatic organization of derived words or the reality of the inflection-derivation dichotomy. The contributions feature innovative methodologies, such as representing lexical meaning as word distribution or predicting semantic properties by means of analogical algorithms. This volume offers new and highly interesting insights into how complex words mean, and offers directions for future research in an oft-neglected field. 410 0$aLinguistische Arbeiten Series 606 $aLANGUAGE ARTS & DISCIPLINES / Linguistics / General$2bisacsh 610 $aComputer Linguistics. 610 $aMorphology. 610 $aSemantics. 615 7$aLANGUAGE ARTS & DISCIPLINES / Linguistics / General. 676 $a415.92 702 $aArndt-Lappe$b Sabine, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aBarbu Mititelu$b Verginica, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aBonami$b Olivier, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aGuzmán Naranjo$b Matías, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aHuyghe$b Richard, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aIord?chioaia$b Gianina, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aKawaletz$b Lea, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aKotowski$b Sven, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aKotowski$b Sven, $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aLeseva$b Svetlozara, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aLieber$b Rochelle, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aLombard$b Alizée, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aPlag$b Ingo, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aPlag$b Ingo, $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aSalvadori$b Justine, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aSchneider$b Viktoria, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aSchwab$b Sandra, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aSchäfer$b Martin, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aStoyanova$b Ivelina, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 712 02$aHeinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996509962103316 996 $aThe Semantics of Derivational Morphology$93089144 997 $aUNISA
