Part I contains a theoretical analysis of the relation of inventories and inventory fluctuations to the business cycle. It begins with a brief survey of the treatment of inventories in the literature of business cycles. Then a theoretical model of the economic system is developed as a basis for judging the nature and importance of inventory fluctuations in the economy. Part II is a study of inventory fluctuations in Canada over the period from 1918 to 1950 and provides some inductive verification of the preceding theoretical argument. The behaviour of inventories in ten important manufacturing industries is analysed in detail. This part also contains analysis of the movement of total inventories and of the behaviour of inventories in the main industrial subdivisions of the economy. Finally a brief chapter relates these findings to the theoretical analysis of Part I. Should you be? This book will arm you with the scientific knowledge necessary to make a rational and informed opinion on the subject, without having to be an expert in nuclear physics. Written so that a non-specialist can easily approach the highly technical aspects, it looks at all significant nuclear reactor accidents since the dawn of the Atomic Age and brings to light many crucial details that rarely, if ever, appear in the general media. Serge Marguet, an internationally renowned expert in reactor physics, breaks down the must-know technical aspects of numerous nuclear reactor accidents throughout history ? both famous and unknown ? from the first ever nuclear accident in Leipzig to the Chernobyl explosion and, finally, the Fukushima affair and its most recent developments. With many high-quality photographs and diagrams, this book is essential reading for anyone concerned about nuclear safety, curious about nuclear reactors, or simply interested in the history ? and future ? of nuclear power. 410 0$aPopular Science,$x2626-6121 606 $aNuclear physics 606 $aScience$xHistory 606 $aNuclear engineering 606 $aRenewable energy sources 606 $aSustainability 606 $aNuclear Physics 606 $aHistory of Science 606 $aNuclear Energy 606 $aRenewable Energy 606 $aSustainability 615 0$aNuclear physics. 615 0$aScience$xHistory. 615 0$aNuclear engineering. 615 0$aRenewable energy sources. 615 0$aSustainability. 615 14$aNuclear Physics. 615 24$aHistory of Science. 615 24$aNuclear Energy. 615 24$aRenewable Energy. 615 24$aSustainability. 676 $a621.4835 700 $aMarguet$b Serge$0825051 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 912 $a996508664203316 996 $aA Brief History of Nuclear Reactor Accidents$93004769 997 $aUNISA
