Theoretical speculations range from electromagnetic acceleration in some unknown astrophysical source to as yet undiscovered particle physics beyond the Standard Model. These speculations have also lead to the development of new detection concepts and experimental projects, some of which are currently under construction. The present volume consists of a self-contained set of lectures which cover most of these aspects: from the speculative origins and the acceleration and propagation mechanisms to a discussion of the detection techniques. It emphasizes the strong interdisciplinarity of this topic and highlights the many open questions. This volume is intended for students entering this field and for professional astronomers and particle and theoretical physicists. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Physics,$x0075-8450 ;$v576 606 $aAstrophysics 606 $aNuclear physics 606 $aQuantum field theory 606 $aString theory 606 $aAstrophysics and Astroparticles$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P22022 606 $aParticle and Nuclear Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23002 606 $aQuantum Field Theories, String Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19048 615 0$aAstrophysics. 615 0$aNuclear physics. 615 0$aQuantum field theory. 615 0$aString theory. 615 14$aAstrophysics and Astroparticles. 615 24$aParticle and Nuclear Physics. 615 24$aQuantum Field Theories, String Theory. 676 $a539.7/223 702 $aLemoine$b M$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aSigl$b G$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 12$aInternational School on Physics and Astrophysics of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays$f(2000 :$eObservatoire de Paris-Meudon), 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996466809903316 996 $aPhysics and astrophysics of ultra-high-energy cosmic rays$9972184 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01689nam 2200493 a 450 001 9910700401103321 005 20110719103816.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002408971 035 $a(OCoLC)715271512 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002408971 100 $a20110427d2011 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||m|||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$a2010 annual report$b[electronic resource] $enew developments in human rights and the rule of law in China : roundtable before the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, One Hundred Eleventh Congress, second session, October 20, 2010 205 $a[Corr. print.] 210 1$aWashington :$cU.S. G.P.O.,$d2011. 215 $a1 online resource (ii, 17 pages) 300 $aTitle from PDF title screen (viewed on Apr. 27, 2011). 300 $aStar print. 300 $aPaper version available for sale by the Supt. of Docs., U.S. G.P.O. 517 $a2010 annual report 606 $aHuman rights$zChina 606 $aRule of law$zChina 606 $aPolitical prisoners$zChina 606 $aInternet$xCensorship$zChina 606 $aFreedom of information$zChina 606 $aFreedom of expression$zChina 606 $aFreedom of religion$zChina 615 0$aHuman rights 615 0$aRule of law 615 0$aPolitical prisoners 615 0$aInternet$xCensorship 615 0$aFreedom of information 615 0$aFreedom of expression 615 0$aFreedom of religion 801 0$bGPO 801 1$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910700401103321 996 $a2010 annual report$93487676 997 $aUNINA
