It also illustrates the application of these various approaches to experimentally relevant problems.                                         In spite of familiarity with the involved phenomena, it is still not possible to accurately calculate nucleation rate, as the properties of the daughter phase are insufficiently known. Existing theories based upon the classical nucleation theory have on the whole explained the trends in behavior correctly. However, they often fail spectacularly to account for new data, in particular in the case of binary or, more generally, multi-component nucleation. This book challenges such classical models and provides a more satisfactory description by using density functional theory and microscopic computer simulations to describe the properties of small clusters. Also, semi-phenomenological models are proposed that relate the properties of small clusters to known properties of the bulk phases.                                                                                                       This monograph is an introduction as well as a compendium to researchers in the areas of  soft condensed matter physics, chemical physics, graduate and post-graduate students in physics and chemistry starting on research in the area of nucleation, and to experimentalists wishing to gain a better understanding of the recent developments being made to account for their data. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Physics,$x0075-8450 ;$v860 606 $aAmorphous substances 606 $aComplex fluids 606 $aPhysical chemistry 606 $aMathematical physics 606 $aContinuum physics 606 $aSoft and Granular Matter, Complex Fluids and Microfluidics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25021 606 $aPhysical Chemistry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C21001 606 $aTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19005 606 $aClassical and Continuum Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P2100X 615 0$aAmorphous substances. 615 0$aComplex fluids. 615 0$aPhysical chemistry. 615 0$aMathematical physics. 615 0$aContinuum physics. 615 14$aSoft and Granular Matter, Complex Fluids and Microfluidics. 615 24$aPhysical Chemistry. 615 24$aTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics. 615 24$aClassical and Continuum Physics. 676 $a548.5 700 $aKalikmanov$b V.I$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0887489 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996466681603316 996 $aNucleation Theory$91982591 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01133nam a2200253 i 4500 001 991002393159707536 005 20020508195445.0 008 970418s1976 fr ||| | fre 035 $ab11002554-39ule_inst 035 $aPARLA161701$9ExL 040 $aDip.to Scienze dell'Antichità$bita 100 1 $aXenophon$075253 245 13$aLa Constitution d'Athénes attribuée a Xénophon /$ctraduction et commentaire par Claudine Leduc 260 $aParis :$bLes Belles Lettres,$c1976 300 $a242 p. ;$c24 cm 490 0 $aAnnales littaraires de l'Université de Besançon ; Centre de recherches d'histoire ancienne ;$v22 700 1 $aLeduc, Claudine 907 $a.b11002554$b23-02-17$c28-06-02 912 $a991002393159707536 945 $aLE015 II Coll. 2/22$g1$iLE015-0743$lle007$o-$pE0.00$q-$rl$s- $t0$u0$v0$w0$x0$y.i11119093$z28-06-02 945 $aLE016 GRE 6 199 $g1$i2016000054644$lle016$nFondo Nenci$on$pE10.00$q-$rn$so $t0$u0$v0$w0$x0$y.i14394492$z13-03-07 996 $aConstitution d'Athénes attribuée a Xénophon$9860893 997 $aUNISALENTO 998 $ale007$ale016$b01-01-97$cm$da $e-$ffre$gfr $h3$i2
