Random walks in random environment / Ofer Zeitouni. 330 $aThis volume contains lectures given at the 31st Probability Summer School in Saint-Flour (July 8-25, 2001). Simon Tavaré?s lectures serve as an introduction to the coalescent, and to inference for ancestral processes in population genetics. The stochastic computation methods described include rejection methods, importance sampling, Markov chain Monte Carlo, and approximate Bayesian methods. Ofer Zeitouni?s course on "Random Walks in Random Environment" presents systematically the tools that have been introduced to study the model. A fairly complete description of available results in dimension 1 is given. For higher dimension, the basic techniques and a discussion of some of the available results are provided. The contribution also includes an updated annotated bibliography and suggestions for further reading. Olivier Catoni's course appears separately. 410 0$aÉcole d'Été de Probabilités de Saint-Flour,$x0721-5363 ;$v1837 606 $aProbabilities 606 $aBiomathematics 606 $aProbability Theory and Stochastic Processes$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M27004 606 $aGenetics and Population Dynamics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M31010 615 0$aProbabilities. 615 0$aBiomathematics. 615 14$aProbability Theory and Stochastic Processes. 615 24$aGenetics and Population Dynamics. 676 $a519.2 700 $aTavaré$b Simon$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0422196 702 $aZeitouni$b Ofer$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aPicard$b Jean$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 12$aEcole d'e?te? de probabilite?s de Saint-Flour$d(31st :$f(2001) 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996466483603316 996 $aLectures on Probability Theory and Statistics$92530053 997 $aUNISA
