A few of the papers in this volume were produced through a multi-step process. First, we recorded the talk given by each author at the workshop in May 2008. Next, we transcribed the recording. The authors then produced a draft of their paper from these transcriptions, refining each draft until the final version. Although the papers are not verbatim transcriptions of the talks given, some do retain the informal and conversational quality of the presentations. In one instance we have included some material from the question-and-answer period after the talk, since the material covered proved to be relevant and interesting. The majority of authors, however, preferred to include a more formal paper based on the material presented at the workshop. 410 0$aSecurity and Cryptology ;$v5661 606 $aComputers and civilization 606 $aData encryption (Computer science) 606 $aData mining 606 $aComputers 606 $aLaw and legislation 606 $aComputer security 606 $aBiometrics (Biology) 606 $aComputers and Society$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I24040 606 $aCryptology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I28020 606 $aData Mining and Knowledge Discovery$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18030 606 $aLegal Aspects of Computing$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I24059 606 $aSystems and Data Security$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I28060 606 $aBiometrics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I22040 608 $aKongress 2008.$2swd 615 0$aComputers and civilization. 615 0$aData encryption (Computer science). 615 0$aData mining. 615 0$aComputers. 615 0$aLaw and legislation. 615 0$aComputer security. 615 0$aBiometrics (Biology). 615 14$aComputers and Society. 615 24$aCryptology. 615 24$aData Mining and Knowledge Discovery. 615 24$aLegal Aspects of Computing. 615 24$aSystems and Data Security. 615 24$aBiometrics. 676 $a004n/a 686 $aDAT 050f$2stub 686 $aDAT 461f$2stub 686 $aDAT 465f$2stub 686 $aSS 4800$2rvk 702 $aGal$b Cecilia S$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aKantor$b Paul B$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aLesk$b Michael E$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996466321603316 996 $aProtecting Persons While Protecting the People$9773802 997 $aUNISA
