This volume presents the proceedings of a workshop intended to assess the current state of research in this field and to facilitate interaction between groups working on very different aspects of object-oriented distributed systems. The workshop was held as part of the 1993 European Conference on Object-Oriented Programming (ECOOP '93). Over fifty people submitted position papers and participated in the workshop, and almost half presented papers. The presented papers were carefully reviewed and revised after the workshop, and 14 papers were selected for this volume. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Computer Science,$x0302-9743 ;$v791 606 $aComputer programming 606 $aOperating systems (Computers) 606 $aSoftware engineering 606 $aProgramming languages (Electronic computers) 606 $aProgramming Techniques$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14010 606 $aOperating Systems$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14045 606 $aSoftware Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14029 606 $aProgramming Languages, Compilers, Interpreters$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14037 615 0$aComputer programming. 615 0$aOperating systems (Computers). 615 0$aSoftware engineering. 615 0$aProgramming languages (Electronic computers). 615 14$aProgramming Techniques. 615 24$aOperating Systems. 615 24$aSoftware Engineering. 615 24$aProgramming Languages, Compilers, Interpreters. 676 $a005.2 702 $aGuerraoui$b Rachid$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aNierstrasz$b Oscar$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aRiveill$b Michel$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 12$aECOOP (Conference)$d(7th :$f1993 :$eKaiserslautern, Germany) 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996465995403316 996 $aObject-based distributed programming$91501943 997 $aUNISA
