In the past few years, ISI research has experienced tremendous growth and attracted substantial interest from academic researchers in related fields as well as practitioners from both government agencies and industry. The first two meetings (ISI 2003 and ISI 2004) in the ISI symposium and conference series were held in Tucson, Arizona, in 2003 and 2004, respectively. They provided a stimulating intellectual forum for discussion among previously disparate communities: academic researchers in information technologies, computer science, public policy, and social studies; local, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence experts; and information technology industry consultants and practitioners. Building on the momentum of these ISI meetings and with sponsorship by the IEEE, we held the IEEE International Conference on Intelligence and Security Informatics (ISI 2005) in May 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to the established and emerging ISI research topics covered at past ISI meetings, ISI 2005 included a new track on Terrorism Informatics, which is a new stream of terrorism research leveraging the latest advances in social science methodologies, and information technologies and tools. ISI 2005 was jointly hosted by Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; the University of Arizona (UA); and the Georgia Institute of Technology (GATECH). 410 0$aInformation Systems and Applications, incl. The conference focused on a broad range of topics related to acoustics and vibration, such as analytical approaches to nonlinear noise and vibration problems, environmental and occupational noise, structural vibration, biomechanics and bioacoustics, as well as experimental approaches to vibration problems in industrial processes. The different contributions also address the analytical, numerical and experimental techniques applicable to analyze linear and non-linear noise and vibration problems (including strong nonlinearity) and they are primarily intended to emphasize the actual trends and state-of-the-art developments in the above mentioned topics. The book is meant for academics, researchers and professionals, as well as PhD students concerned with various fields of acoustics and vibration of mechanical structures. 410 0$aSpringer Proceedings in Physics,$x1867-4941 ;$v251 606 $aAcoustics 606 $aMultibody systems 606 $aVibration 606 $aMechanics, Applied 606 $aMathematical physics 606 $aAcoustical engineering 606 $aAcoustics 606 $aMultibody Systems and Mechanical Vibrations 606 $aTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics 606 $aMathematical Methods in Physics 606 $aEngineering Acoustics 615 0$aAcoustics. 615 0$aMultibody systems. 615 0$aVibration. 615 0$aMechanics, Applied. 615 0$aMathematical physics. 615 0$aAcoustical engineering. 615 14$aAcoustics. 615 24$aMultibody Systems and Mechanical Vibrations. 615 24$aTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics. 615 24$aMathematical Methods in Physics. 615 24$aEngineering Acoustics. 676 $a620.3 702 $aHerisanu$b Nicolae 702 $aMarinca$b Vasile 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910863189203321 996 $aAcoustics and Vibration of Mechanical Structures?AVMS 2019$94522747 997 $aUNINA
