This special issue on Biological and Biologically-inspired Communication contains the extended versions of the best papers presented at the Second International Conference on Bio-Inspired Models of Network, Information, and Computing Systems (BIONETICS 2007). The first three papers describe the applicability of bio-inspired techniques in the technical domain of computing and communication. The following two papers focus on molecular communication and the properties of such communication channels. Two further papers demonstrate techniques for the analysis of genes, and these are followed by a paper outlining an evolutionary approach to the non-unique oligonucleotide probe selection problem. The final paper, which is a regular paper, describes a stochastic pi-calculus model of the PHO pathway. 410 0$aTransactions on Computational Systems Biology,$x1861-2075 ;$v5410 606 $aBioinformatics 606 $aComputer communication systems 606 $aComputer simulation 606 $aAlgorithms 606 $aComputers 606 $aMathematical statistics 606 $aComputational Biology/Bioinformatics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I23050 606 $aComputer Communication Networks$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13022 606 $aSimulation and Modeling$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I19000 606 $aAlgorithm Analysis and Problem Complexity$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16021 606 $aComputation by Abstract Devices$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16013 606 $aProbability and Statistics in Computer Science$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I17036 615 0$aBioinformatics. 615 0$aComputer communication systems. 615 0$aComputer simulation. 615 0$aAlgorithms. 615 0$aComputers. 615 0$aMathematical statistics. 615 14$aComputational Biology/Bioinformatics. 615 24$aComputer Communication Networks. 615 24$aSimulation and Modeling. 615 24$aAlgorithm Analysis and Problem Complexity. 615 24$aComputation by Abstract Devices. 615 24$aProbability and Statistics in Computer Science. 676 $a572.80285 702 $aPriami$b Corrado$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aDressler$b Falko$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aAkan$b Ozgur B$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aNgom$b Alioune$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 712 12$aBIONETICS 2007$f(2007 :$eBudapest, Hungary) 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996465883503316 996 $aTransactions on Computational Systems Biology X$9774108 997 $aUNISA
