The aim of this conference on parallel computing was to review the progress of research in the field and to discuss the problems which still have to be solved. The papers presented were all invited from researchers within Shell and from universities and computer industries. The subjects covered in the conference were: - Experiences with various hardware and system software configurations; - Parallel programming methods and parallel languages; - General purpose mathematical software; - Fluid flow simulation; - Optimisation in logistics applications. New results are presented for linear algebra computations, for fluid flow simulation by cellular automata, and for simulating the breakage of catalyst carriers. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Computer Science,$x0302-9743 ;$v384 606 $aComputer communication systems 606 $aComputer organization 606 $aComputers 606 $aComputer programming 606 $aMicroprocessors 606 $aNumerical analysis 606 $aComputer Communication Networks$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13022 606 $aComputer Systems Organization and Communication Networks$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13006 606 $aTheory of Computation$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I16005 606 $aProgramming Techniques$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I14010 606 $aProcessor Architectures$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13014 606 $aNumerical Analysis$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M14050 615 0$aComputer communication systems. 615 0$aComputer organization. 615 0$aComputers. 615 0$aComputer programming. 615 0$aMicroprocessors. 615 0$aNumerical analysis. 615 14$aComputer Communication Networks. 615 24$aComputer Systems Organization and Communication Networks. 615 24$aTheory of Computation. 615 24$aProgramming Techniques. 615 24$aProcessor Architectures. 615 24$aNumerical Analysis. 676 $a004.6 702 $aZee$b Gerrit A. van$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aVorst$b Johannes G.G. van de$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996465727903316 996 $aParallel Computing 1988$92830558 997 $aUNISA
