The Romantic idea that an author created a text or even a work autonomously is transferred even to pre-modern literature today. This ignores the fact that the transmission of medieval and early modern literature creates variances that could not be justified by means of singular authorships. The present volume offers new theoretical approaches from English, German, and Scandinavian studies to provide a historically more adequate approach to the question of authorship in premodern literary cultures. Authorship is no longer equated with an extra-textual entity, but is instead considered a narratological, inner- and intertextual function that can be recognized in the retrospectively established beginnings of literature as well as in the medial transformation of texts during the early days of printing. The volume is aimed at interested scholars of all philologies, especially those dealing with the Middle Ages or Early Modern Period. 410 0$aAndere Ästhetik - Studien 606 $aLITERARY CRITICISM / European / General$2bisacsh 610 $aAuthorship as a Theoretical Concept. 610 $aPremodern Authorship. 610 $aPremodern Literature. 615 7$aLITERARY CRITICISM / European / General. 676 $a808.020902 702 $aBamberger$b Gudrun, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aBauer$b Matthias, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aBjörnsson$b Sigurđur Ingibergur, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aEggertsdóttir$b Margrét, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aGlauser$b Jürg, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aGropper$b Stefanie, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aGropper$b Stefanie, $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aHelgason$b Jón Karl, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aKnöpfle$b Madita, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aKárason$b Steingrímur Páll, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aQuinn$b Judy, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aRankovi?$b Slavica, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aRohrbach$b Lena, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aRösli$b Lukas, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 702 $aRösli$b Lukas, $4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aZirker$b Angelika, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 712 02$aSonderforschungsbereich 1391 Andere Ästhetik$4fnd$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/fnd 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996453546803316 996 $aIn Search of the Culprit$92572760 997 $aUNISA
