But while Scott brought Hong Kong and surveillance into the global film repertoire, the city's own cinema has remained outside of the global surveillance discussion. In Arresting Cinema, Karen Fang delivers a unifying account of Hong Kong cinema that draws upon its renowned crime films and other unique genres to demonstrate Hong Kong's view of surveillance. She argues that Hong Kong's films display a tolerance of?and even opportunism towards?the soft cage of constant observation, unlike the fearful view prevalent in the West. However, many surveillance cinema studies focus solely on European and Hollywood films, discounting other artistic traditions and industrial circumstances. Hong Kong's films show a more crowded, increasingly economically stratified, and postnational world that nevertheless offers an aura of hopeful futurity. Only by exploring Hong Kong surveillance film can we begin to shape a truly global understanding of Hitchcock's "rear window ethics." 606 $aSurveillance in motion pictures 606 $aCrime films$zChina$zHong Kong$xHistory and criticism 606 $aMotion pictures$zChina$zHong Kong$xHistory 615 0$aSurveillance in motion pictures. 615 0$aCrime films$xHistory and criticism. 615 0$aMotion pictures$xHistory. 676 $a791.430 95125 700 $aFang$b Karen$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01171339 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910148610103321 996 $aArresting Cinema$92894755 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02152oam 2200613 450 001 9910705745703321 005 20170705105211.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002452951 035 $a(OCoLC)891575060 035 $a(OCoLC)995470000002452951 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002452951 100 $a20140929d1969 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aEarly Pennsylvanian ammonoids from southern Nevada /$fby Mackenzie Gordon, Jr 210 1$aWashington :$cUnited States Department of the Interior, Geological Survey,$d1969. 215 $a1 online resource (iii, C13 pages) $cillustrations, map 225 1 $aGeological Survey professional paper ;$v613-C 225 1 $aContributions to paleontology 300 $aTitle from title screen (viewed September 24, 2014). 300 $a"Four species of late Morrow age characterize the Diaboloceras peroccidens Zone at the base of the Pennsylvanian sequence in Clark and Nye Counties." 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (page C11) and index. 606 $aAmmonoidea$zNevada$zClark County 606 $aAmmonoidea$zNevada$zNye County 606 $aPaleontology$yPennsylvanian 606 $aPaleontology$zNevada$zClark County 606 $aPaleontology$zNevada$zNye County 606 $aAmmonoidea$2fast 606 $aPaleontology$2fast 606 $aPennsylvanian Geologic Period$2fast 607 $aNevada$zClark County$2fast 607 $aNevada$zNye County$2fast 615 0$aAmmonoidea 615 0$aAmmonoidea 615 0$aPaleontology 615 0$aPaleontology 615 0$aPaleontology 615 7$aAmmonoidea. 615 7$aPaleontology. 615 7$aPennsylvanian Geologic Period. 700 $aGordon$b Mackenzie$f1913-$01389569 712 02$aGeological Survey (U.S.), 801 0$bCOP 801 1$bCOP 801 2$bOCLCO 801 2$bOCLCF 801 2$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910705745703321 996 $aEarly Pennsylvanian ammonoids from southern Nevada$93484589 997 $aUNINA
