He recovers the potent anti-Jewish, anticapitalist propaganda that cemented the idea of a Jewish conspiracy in the European mind and connects it to the atrocities that characterized the Jewish experience in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.Beginning in the eighteenth century, counter-Enlightenment intellectuals and intransigent Catholic writers singled out Jews for conspiring to exploit self-sustaining markets and the liberal state. These ideas spread among socialist and labor movements in the nineteenth century and intensified during the Long Depression of the 1870s. Anti-Jewish anticapitalism then migrated to the Habsburg Empire with the Christian Social Party; to Germany with the Anti-Semitic Leagues; to France with the nationalist movements; and to Italy, where Revolutionary Syndicalists made anti-Jewish anticapitalism the basis of an alliance with the nationalists. Exemplified best in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the infamous document that "leaked" Jewish plans to conquer the world, the Jewish-conspiracy myth inverts reality and creates a perverse relationship to historical and judicial truth. Isolating the intellectual roots of this phenomenon and its contemporary resonances, Battini shows us why, so many decades after the Holocaust, Jewish people continue to be a powerful political target. 606 $aAntisemitism$zEurope$xHistory$y19th century 606 $aAntisemitism$zEurope$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aJudaism$xRelations$xChristianity 606 $aChristianity and other religions$xJudaism 606 $aChristianity and antisemitism$xHistory$y19th century 606 $aChristianity and antisemitism$xHistory$y20th century 615 0$aAntisemitism$xHistory 615 0$aAntisemitism$xHistory 615 0$aJudaism$xRelations$xChristianity. 615 0$aChristianity and other religions$xJudaism. 615 0$aChristianity and antisemitism$xHistory 615 0$aChristianity and antisemitism$xHistory 676 $a305.892/404 700 $aBattini$b M$g(Michele),$0144283 702 $aMazhar$b Noor 702 $aVergnano$b Isabella 702 $aHinze$b Martin 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910806954603321 996 $aSocialism of fools$94105594 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03388nam 2200973z- 450 001 9910367746503321 005 20210212 010 $a3-03921-571-X 035 $a(CKB)4100000010106252 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/58174 035 $a(oapen)doab58174 035 $a(oapen)58174 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000010106252 100 $a20202102d2019 |y 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn|---annan 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aRemote Sensing of Environmental Changes in Cold Regions 210 $cMDPI - Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute$d2019 215 $a1 online resource (210 p.) 311 08$a3-03921-570-1 330 $aThis Special Issue gathers papers reporting recent advances in the remote sensing of cold regions. It includes contributions presenting improvements in modeling microwave emissions from snow, assessment of satellite-based sea ice concentration products, satellite monitoring of ice jam and glacier lake outburst floods, satellite mapping of snow depth and soil freeze/thaw states, near-nadir interferometric imaging of surface water bodies, and remote sensing-based assessment of high arctic lake environment and vegetation recovery from wildfire disturbances in Alaska. A comprehensive review is presented to summarize the achievements, challenges, and opportunities of cold land remote sensing. 606 $aResearch & information: general$2bicssc 610 $aaerial photographs 610 $aAlaska 610 $aAntarctica 610 $aArctic navigation 610 $aArctic wetlands 610 $aAthabasca River 610 $aChina 610 $aclimate change 610 $acryosphere 610 $adecomposition 610 $adesiccation 610 $aelevation 610 $aEverest 610 $aFort McMurray 610 $afrozen soil 610 $aFrozen soil 610 $aFY-3D/MWRI 610 $aglacial lake 610 $aglobal change 610 $aground-based radiometer 610 $aHimalaya 610 $aice run 610 $aL-band emission 610 $alake 610 $aLandsat 610 $amicrowave radiation response depth (MRRD) 610 $amicrowave radiometer experiment 610 $aMODIS 610 $an/a 610 $anear-nadir SAR 610 $anorthern high latitudes 610 $aparameterized model 610 $apassive microwave 610 $aprotected areas 610 $aQinghai-Tibet Plateau 610 $aRADARSAT-2 610 $aregional algorithms 610 $aremote sensing 610 $asea ice concentration 610 $ashipborne observation 610 $asnow 610 $asnow depth 610 $asupraglacial pond 610 $aTian Gong 2 610 $aTibetan Plateau 610 $atundra ponds 610 $aWALOMIS 610 $awetlands 610 $awildfire 615 7$aResearch & information: general 700 $aDu$b Jinyang$4auth$01313312 702 $aLu$b Hui$4auth 702 $aJiang$b Lingmei$4auth 702 $aWatts$b Jennifer D$4auth 702 $aTarolli$b Paolo$4auth 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910367746503321 996 $aRemote Sensing of Environmental Changes in Cold Regions$93031271 997 $aUNINA
