Disregarding the needs of the victim, the German penal system generally focuses only on offenders and the need to reintegrate them into society. By implementing laws concerning restorative justice programs in the prison system the German legislator seeks to dissolve this apparent contradiction. During this international conference both practitioners and scholars depicted existing restorative justice programs and outlined their legal framework. It became apparent that the reintegration of criminal offenders and additional considerations of victim interests do not necessarily exclude each other but, to the contrary, may even complement one another. 606 $aLaw$2bicssc 610 $arestorative justice program 610 $areintegration 610 $avictim interests 615 7$aLaw 700 $aJesse$b Christiane$01786785 702 $aBliesener$b Thomas 702 $aHöffler$b Katrin 801 0$bScCtBLL 801 1$bScCtBLL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910316448803321 996 $aOpferorientierung im Strafvollzug$94318957 997 $aUNINA LEADER 09969nam 22007215 450 001 9910755077403321 005 20251008163632.0 010 $a9783031388606 010 $a3031388607 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-031-38860-6 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC30830893 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL30830893 035 $a(CKB)28572694200041 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-031-38860-6 035 $a(EXLCZ)9928572694200041 100 $a20231027d2023 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aEmpathy $eThe Contribution of Neuroscience to Social Analysis /$fby Vincenzo Auriemma 205 $a1st ed. 2023. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Palgrave Macmillan,$d2023. 215 $a1 online resource (253 pages) 311 08$aPrint version: Auriemma, Vincenzo Empathy Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2023 9783031388590 327 $a1. Using a strong trans-disciplinary approach at the crossroads of neurosciences, psychology and sociology, the author provides insights of possible application of the empirical research, making this work useful to scholars as well as people outside the academia. - Prof. Gabriele Balbi, University of Italian Switzerland, Switzerland. This book examines the concept of empathy in sociological and neuroscientific discourses using innovative perspectives from sociology and social neuroscience. Through a transdisciplinary approach, the author delves into the history of empathy and its social, cultural and semantic changes, and then reviews the conception of empathy in neuroscientific discourse. Distancing itself from the traditional neuroscientific literature of biological universalism, this volume offers an innovative perspective on empathy. It also opens a new avenue for neurosociology, which is presented as the discipline that can emphasize all the cultural and emotional aspects that govern empathy. Key themes addressed in the text are: empathy in all its meanings, from Hume to TenHouten; neurosociology as one possible avenue for embracing the cultural and neuroscientific aspects of empathy; and empirical research. A valuable resource for sociology students and academics in the field of empathy and neurosociology, this book is also of interest to those studying sociological thought, and social neuroscience.
