The design and development of our future products needs to be orchestrated, whether they be conceptual, technical or organizational. Orchestrating Human-Centered Design presents an Orchestra model that attempts to articulate technology, organizations and people. Human-centered design (HCD) should not be limited to local/short-term/linear engineering, but actively focus on global/long-term/non-linear design, and constantly identify emergent properties from the use of artifacts. Orchestrating Human-Centered Design results from incremental syntheses of courses the author has given at the Florida Institute of Technology in the HCD PhD program. It is focused on technological and philosophical concepts that high-level managers, technicians and all those interested in the design of artifacts should consider. Our growing software -intensive world imposes better knowledge on cognitive engineering, life-critical systems, complexity analysis, organizational design and management, modeling and simulation, and advanced interaction media, and this well-constructed and informative book provides a road map for this. 606 $aUser interfaces (Computer systems) 606 $aEngineering design 606 $aCognitive psychology 606 $aSocial sciences 606 $aOperations research 606 $aManagement science 606 $aDecision making 606 $aUser Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I18067 606 $aEngineering Design$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T17020 606 $aCognitive Psychology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Y20060 606 $aSocial Sciences, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X00000 606 $aOperations Research, Management Science$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M26024 606 $aOperations Research/Decision Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/521000 615 0$aUser interfaces (Computer systems). 615 0$aEngineering design. 615 0$aCognitive psychology. 615 0$aSocial sciences. 615 0$aOperations research. 615 0$aManagement science. 615 0$aDecision making. 615 14$aUser Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction. 615 24$aEngineering Design. 615 24$aCognitive Psychology. 615 24$aSocial Sciences, general. 615 24$aOperations Research, Management Science. 615 24$aOperations Research/Decision Theory. 676 $a004.21 700 $aBoy$b Guy$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0754970 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910437587203321 996 $aOrchestrating Human-Centered Design$92503801 997 $aUNINA
