Andrea Ballestero shows how these ephemeral distinctions are made through four technolegal devices?formula, index, list and pact. She argues that what is at stake in these devices is not the making of a distinct future but what counts as the future in the first place. A Future History of Water is an ethnographically rich and conceptually charged journey into ant-filled water meters, fantastical water taxonomies, promises captured on slips of paper, and statistical maneuvers that dissolve the human of human rights. Ultimately, Ballestero demonstrates what happens when instead of trying to fix its meaning, we make water?s changing form the precondition of our analyses. 606 $aRight to water$zBrazil 606 $aRight to water$zCosta Rica 606 $aRight to water$zLatin America 606 $aWater rights$zBrazil 606 $aWater rights$zCosta Rica 606 $aWater rights$zLatin America 606 $aWater-supply$xPolitical aspects$zBrazil 606 $aWater-supply$xPolitical aspects$zCosta Rica 606 $aWater-supply$xPolitical aspects$zLatin America 606 $aSOCIAL SCIENCE / Anthropology / Cultural & Social$2bisacsh 615 0$aRight to water 615 0$aRight to water 615 0$aRight to water 615 0$aWater rights 615 0$aWater rights 615 0$aWater rights 615 0$aWater-supply$xPolitical aspects 615 0$aWater-supply$xPolitical aspects 615 0$aWater-supply$xPolitical aspects 615 7$aSOCIAL SCIENCE / Anthropology / Cultural & Social. 676 $a333.33/9 700 $aBallestero$b Andrea, $4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01224598 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996472046903316 996 $aA Future History of Water$92843170 997 $aUNISA LEADER 01322nam 2200385Ia 450 001 996389637403316 005 20210104171927.0 035 $a(CKB)4940000000096447 035 $a(EEBO)2240855498 035 $a(OCoLC)ocn879330754e 035 $a(OCoLC)879330754 035 $a(EXLCZ)994940000000096447 100 $a20140507d1687 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||a|bb| 200 14$aThe Bishop of Chesters speech at Magdalen College, Oxford$b[electronic resource] $ethe 16th of November, 1687 210 $a[London $cs.n$dLicensed, Jan. the 16th. 1687] 215 $a7 p 300 $aCaption title. 300 $aPlace and date of publication suggested by Wing (2nd ed., 1994). 300 $aInitial. 300 $a"Licensed, Jan. the 16th. 1687."--P. 7. 300 $aReproduction of original in: Marsh's Library. 330 $aeebo-0088 606 $aConduct of life$vEarly works to 1800 608 $aAcademic addresses$zEngland$y17th century.$2rbgenr 608 $aAddresses$zEngland$y17th century.$2rbgenr 615 0$aConduct of life 700 $aCartwright$b Thomas$f1634-1689.$01004923 801 0$bUMI 801 1$bUMI 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996389637403316 996 $aThe Bishop of Chesters speech at Magdalen College, Oxford$92378279 997 $aUNISA
